Redokun's interface is divided into several functional sections. This overview describes each one of these, one at a time, and explains how they work.
Here you can switch between the document list, settings, and the upload page.
'Documents' is the list of documents you have uploaded or those that had been assigned to you. You can view the details of the document and perform actions related to it, such as going to the details page and deleting a document.
The expanded view shows you more information about a document and the percentage status of each assigned language.
On the Details page, you can add a language to translate a document. From here, you can assign translation tasks, monitor the translation progress for each language, upload a new revision, use the bulk export-import of sentences, and get more details of the document.
When you click into one of the document's assigned languages to start translating, you will get to the translation page. There is a blue box at the top of the page that is divided into three columns. The first column shows the page preview, the column at the center shows the source phrases that need to be translated, the third column contains the translation area.
The blue box, or the top bar, shows an overview of the translation progress. Clicking on the "Translated" link shows you the complete translation status overview. Clicking on "Confirm translation" means that you confirm the document translation. After confirmation, the file can be generated and the translation will not be editable. However, the document owner can unlock the document to make it editable again.
The central column shows the source sentences that need to be translated. To separate and preserve style changes or special characters, Redokun uses tags and markers. If the source language contains tags, then you should place each tag in the corresponding translated phrase.
The third column shows the target translation boxes to be filled out, as well as translation suggestions. Once you translate a segment, press the Tab key on your keyboard to add a tag or marker, or to go to the next sentence. Redokun automatically saves every translation.
For each translation box, Redokun suggests translations based on previously translated documents of the owner and the translator. There is a panel of buttons on the right of each translation box, you may copy the source sentence or mark it as a draft if you are unsure about your translation and want to check it later.
On this page, you can generate and export a Microsoft Excel file or an XLIFF file containing all the sentences in your document. After downloading the exported file, enter your translations under the "Target Language" column. You can import and export the phrases as many times as you want, even partially. If the source language contains tags, then you should place each tag in the corresponding translated phrase.
On this page, you can import the translated sentences from the Microsoft Excel file previously exported from Redokun. Please keep in mind that the only internal format supported is the one exported from Redokun.
Update your document by uploading the document in its original file format (saved from the original software like Adobe InDesign, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, etc.). When you upload the revised document, Redokun automatically updates all the languages assigned to that document, so that you have only to translate newly updated sentences, if any. Graphic changes and new sentences are instantly updated in all the target languages, and assigned translators are notified of the new document revision.
On the Settings page, you can manage your profile, add new languages, add new translators, assign languages to translators, and change your personal information and password.
The Account Settings page shows your personal information and the number of pages available in your account.
On the languages page, you can add a target language to your Redokun account. Supported languages are: Afrikaans, Albanian, Arabic, Armenian, Azerbaijani (Azeri), Basque, Belarusian, Bengali, Bosnian, Bulgarian, Catalan, Chinese, Croatian, Czech, Danish, Dhivehi, Dutch, English, Estonian, Faroese, Farsi, Finnish, French, Galician, Georgian, German, Greek, Gujarati, Hebrew, Hindi, Hungarian, Icelandic, Indonesian, Italian, Japanese, Javanese, Kannada, Kazakh, Konkani, Korean, Kyrgyz, Latvian, Lithuanian, Macedonian, Malay, Malayalam, Maltese, Māori, Marathi, Mongolian, Nepali, Northern Sotho, Norwegian, Pashto, Polish, Portuguese, Punjabi, Quechua, Rhaeto-Romance, Romanian, Russian, Sami, Sanskrit, Scottish Gaelic, Serbian (Latin), Slovak, Slovenian, Somali, Sotho, Spanish, Sundanese, Swahili, Swedish, Syriac, Tagalog, Tamil, Tatar, Telugu, Thai, Tswana, Turkish, Urdu, Uzbek, Vietnamese, Welsh, Xhosa, and Zulu, with the possibility of adding more on short notice.
