Heidi Lamb, the Website Merchandiser, oversees the digital presence and leads translation initiatives. Working closely with her is Emily Colesby, Website Administrator, who brings a background in languages and translation to the team. Together, they manage the continuous flow of multilingual content across Corston’s websites, marketing campaigns, and instructional resources.
“We handle a wide variety of content,” Emily explains. “It’s not just the product pages. It’s also blogs, marketing campaigns, ads, social media, subtitles for videos, and digital instructions.And we want all of that to be clear, accurate, and on-brand in every language.”
And their translation work isn’t just about product sales—it plays a key role in educating and supporting customers across all regions.
“Education is a big one,” says Emily. “We translate not just for selling the product, but to help customers understand it and use it correctly. That’s really important for us.”
The Challenge: Fragmented Workflows and Inconsistent Translations
Before Redokun, Corston’s translation workflow relied heavily on manual effort and inconsistent processes. The team used a patchwork of Excel files, SRTs for videos, and IDMLs for design files, with no centralized system to manage it all.
Worse still, the lack of translation memory and glossary control led to terminology inconsistencies and repeated errors, especially for their technical products.
“I used to work in French customer service, and I kept seeing issues with the translations,” Emily recalls. “Switches and sockets have really specific terminology, and the literal translations we were using just didn’t work. They weren’t localized properly, and it caused confusion for our customers.”
The frustration reached a boiling point when Emily was tasked with a major translation project covering their European switch and socket products. It became clear they needed a platform that could help them take control of their content translation process and collaborate more effectively across teams.

“We needed something that would work across all our teams,” Heidi says. “Our creatives use IDML, we use Excel, and our videographers use SRT files. An agency would have been too expensive, and other platforms didn’t fit all our formats.”

“We trialed it across different departments,” Heidi explains. “Everyone—graphic designers, videographers, translators—gave it a go. It was a team effort to evaluate it, and after a few months, we were convinced it was the right fit.”
They brought their external translators into the trial, gathered feedback, and worked closely with Redokun’s support team to iron out onboarding questions.
“Our translators love the tool,” Emily adds. “They had a few questions at the start, but we had a big meeting, talked through everything, and Redokun’s support team was incredibly helpful. They even added support for regional Portuguese when we asked. That responsiveness made a huge difference.”

“I especially love the ability to filter projects by status,” says Heidi. “It’s so helpful when managing multiple translators at once.”
More Than a Translation Tool—A Workflow Evolution
Beyond streamlining the translation process, Redokun has helped Corston rethink how they prepare content internally. The team is currently reorganizing their websites to follow the structure of their newly launched US website and using this opportunity to streamline their document management strategy.
“We’re changing how we create content so it fits Redokun’s workflow,” Emily shares. “It’s not just about translating. It’s made us more efficient overall.”
With Emily stepping into a new role managing all copy and translator coordination, Redokun is becoming even more central to their content operations.
“We’re building abetter filing system now. It’s already more organized than before, and once we finish reorganizing our sites, it’ll be even more streamlined,” Heidi says.
