Problem
Coordinating translations of user manuals into 30 languages
As Enbio ventured into the global market, the legal requirements presented a major hurdle to Pawel and his team. Suddenly, they had to go from managing fewer than 10 languages to handling translations of their technical documents and user manuals into 30 languages.
What made the task even harder was that they had no centralized system in place to coordinate such complex translation projects, all while contending with limited resources.
As they entered more markets, each with different and more diverse languages, the job of translating became even bigger and took more time.
Reliance on inefficient translation tools
Pawel initially turned to using machine translation tools to speed up the initial translation step. This was followed by human review from external freelancers, agencies, or marketing team members in the local markets.
But, while tools like DeepL or Google Translate offered a quick way to convert text from one language to another, the major drawback was the absence of a streamlined workflow to efficiently recreate InDesign documents in all the required languages, while maintaining the design and layout.
It was also challenging for him to find people to review translations for non-European languages like Japanese and Korean.
High risks of error with manual copy-pasting
Given their small team, Enbio's approach of manually copying and pasting text from machine translation engines into files — and then coordinating back-and-forth reviews — resulted in significant delays in their project timelines.
Their process was particularly time-consuming and expensive as it required multiple stages of copy-pasting for both translation and document formatting.
Frequent updates to assets
The inefficiencies and costs were further compounded by the necessity to constantly update user manuals, often 2 to 3 times a year.
Each update demanded the same painstaking translation and formatting process, adding to the workload and heightening the risk of critical mistakes.

Since it was possible to communicate in Redokun, Pawel and his team were also able to enhance the quality of their translations by reducing contextual errors and potential misunderstandings. The tool simplified the management of multiple languages for Enbio, particularly when quick updates or changes were needed.
Now, the management and R&D departments can simply request changes, which can be swiftly implemented with 90% of the translation already done from previous iterations.
